Privacy and cookies

This site collects as little as it can. This page says exactly what that is, in plain English, and what changes if advertising is switched on.

Who runs this site

fuck.uk.com is an independent reference site about the English word. It is not a business and does not sell anything. You can contact the site through the corrections form.

What we collect

• Server logs. Like every website, the server records the IP address, browser type, requested page and time of each visit. These logs are used only to keep the site running and secure, and are deleted on the hosting provider's normal rotation.
• Search terms. Anything you type into the site search is sent to the server to run the search. It is not stored beyond the server log.
• The corrections form. If you send a correction, we receive whatever you type, plus your name and email if you give them. They are used only to consider and reply to your correction, and are kept only as long as that takes.

What we do not collect

There is no account system, no newsletter, no tracking pixel, no analytics script and no social media button on this site. We do not sell, share or trade any information about visitors.

Cookies

The site itself sets one cookie, a temporary session identifier, and only on the corrections page, to protect the form against automated abuse. It expires when you close your browser. Your browser's local storage is not used.

Advertising

The site may carry advertisements served by Google AdSense. If it does, Google and its certified partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites, and to measure them. You can opt out of personalised advertising through Google's ad settings, and learn how Google uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Visitors in the UK and the European Economic Area are shown a consent message before any advertising cookies are set, and can change their choice at any time through the link in the footer once advertising is live. If no advertising is currently shown on the site, none of this applies yet.

The site links to other websites, including Google's policy pages and publishers' sites. Their privacy practices are their own.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask what personal data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. Because the site holds almost nothing, the honest answer to most requests will be that there is nothing to return, but you are welcome to ask through the form.

Children

The site is written for adults and older teenagers and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top will change with it.
